The system employs metal alloy keys, which are uniquely coded and ready to be assigned to any door or group of doors. The keys are reusable. When a valid key is inserted into the electronic cylinder, an electronic solenoid frees the cylinder barrel, thereby permitting key rotation and unlocking in the conventional manner.
The integrated key reader and mortise lock reads the key upon withdrawal. The lever is rotated like any standard lock. Key readers similarly read the key and determine access authorization. The controller operates an electric strike or electro-magnetic lock.
As soon as you hand your guests a Marlok™ metal key, they will know they got something special.
Each Marlok™ key carries an original code, unique to that key. The Millenium® front desk controller instructs the system to recognize a particular key as having certain access privileges and the guest is checked in instantly.
The Marlok™ key is easy to carry, easy to use, and it may even be gold-plated and monogrammed with the guest's initials. And, unlike the common plastic keycard, it carries a lifetime warranty and may be used from one Millenium® equipped hotel to another
