Kaba wins $2.1 million contract for workforce management system in the USA

General Dynamics NASSCO, a shipbuilding subsidiary of U.S. aerospace-defence company General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has awarded Kaba the contract to supply and install an advanced system for timekeeping and workflow optimisation.

NASSCO asked Kaba Workforce Solutions in Mirimar, Florida to supply and install Auto Time, an innovative and expendableworkforce management system. The system will record time worked by approximately 4,600 employees at the NASSCO shipyard in San Diego, California, aswell as track and update the hours worked on a specific job or worksite.

Thanks to it's ease of use, Auto Time will also increase the productivity by supporting supervisors in managing their employees. the contract is worth $2.1 million. The installation of the system is scheduled to be completed in Summer 2010.

Richard Souders, resident and CEO of Kaba Workforce Solutions, USA, commented: “Complex workforce management implementations such as the NASSCO facility in San Diego are exactly what Auto Time is designed for. I am confident that it will bring significant operating efficiencies and become a benchmark installation for similar projects”.

In addition to commercial shipbuilding work, the NASSCO shipyard builds and repairs ships for the U.S. Navy. consequently, the system has to meet the strict criteria imposed by the U.S. Government's Defence Contract Audit Agency (DCAA).
