Passenger Terminal EXPO 2009 | |
This year's Passenger Terminal EXPO was held in the UK for the first time, and was hosted at ExCel, London on 24, 25 and 26 March. The 14th Passenger Terminal EXPO combined one of the largest exhibits of equipment and technologies for airport and rail terminal operations. Kaba was among the 180 exhibitors from companies around the world eager to demonstrate technological innovations, superior designs and aids to better service within the passenger terminal industry. |

On show at stand 1207, Kaba Gallenschütz demonstrated one of it's solutions developed for automated border control. The Kaba ABC system consists of an interlocking sensor barrier with a document reader outside and a biometric device inside the passageway. In addition to this, an infrared sensor ensures that only one person is inside the interlock at a time - eradicating any risk of “tailgating” - and should the identity of the passenger be questioned, the second door remains closed until a checkpoint official resolves the matter. The event provided a great opportunity to catch-up on market intelligence, share new ideas and discuss the latest industry issues and innovations. Attached is the Kaba company and product articles featured in the events show issue of Passenger Terminal World, the industry's leading publication on passenger terminal facilities, designs and technologies.
